Terms of Service
Last updated 22 October 2026
The short version
Sentri watches your home for leaks, smoke and other emergencies, and sends a person when something happens. It is a monitoring and response service, not an alarm company and not a replacement for smoke alarms or for calling 911. It depends on your devices working and on your contact details being current.
This agreement
These terms are between you and Vision Zero Connect Ltd (“we”, “us”), the operator of Sentri. They apply when you create a Sentri account, use the Sentri app, or receive our monitoring and response service.
Our Privacy Policy forms part of these terms and describes what we hold and why.
You must be 18 or older, and live in the United States, to use Sentri.
What Sentri does
We receive readings and alerts from sensors and connected accounts you choose to link. When something is detected that needs attention, we notify you, and for serious events our operators work to reach you and can dispatch a restoration crew to your property.
We keep a record of what was detected, what we did, and who attended, so you can give it to an insurer.
What Sentri is not
Sentri is not an alarm monitoring company. We are not licensed as an alarm company, we do not operate a central station in that sense, and we do not dispatch police.
Sentri does not replace smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms or 911. Keep working alarms in your home and call 911 in an emergency. Do not wait to hear from us.
Sentri does not respond to intrusions. If a camera or sensor you have connected reports someone in or near your home, we show it to you. We do not send anyone and we do not contact law enforcement on your behalf.
Sentri does not control your devices. We read what your sensors report. We do not close water valves, arm or disarm alarms, or unlock anything.
What you agree to do
Keep your details current. Your address, phone number and emergency contacts are how we reach you and how a crew finds your door. Out-of-date details are the most common reason a response is delayed.
Keep your devices working. Sentri can only act on what it is told. Flat batteries, disconnected accounts and devices taken offline mean we hear nothing, and silence is not the same as safety.
Use it for your own property. Do not use Sentri to monitor a property you do not own or occupy, or to monitor other people.
Keep your account secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
Devices and connected accounts
Sentri works with devices and accounts made by other companies. When you connect one, you authorise us to receive data from it on your behalf, and that company’s own terms continue to apply to you.
We do not control those services and we cannot guarantee them. If a provider changes its service, has an outage, or ends your access, Sentri may stop receiving data from those devices. You can disconnect any provider at any time in the app.
Subscription and payment
Creating an account is free, and so is connecting your own cameras. You can open a Sentri account at no cost, connect a camera provider such as Ring, see your cameras listed and open a live view, without any payment or plan.
What you pay for is monitoring. A licence is what makes us watch a property — responding to its sensors, raising incidents, and contacting you or a crew. Your plan determines how many properties that covers. Until a property is licensed, the app says plainly that nobody is monitoring it.
Accounts are currently activated by our team rather than by payment inside the app. Where a subscription is charged, it recurs until cancelled, and cancelling stops future charges while leaving your account active until the end of the period you have paid for.
Monitoring ends when your subscription does. We will tell you before that happens.
Limits of the service
We work hard to make Sentri reliable, and we cannot promise it is perfect. Sensors fail, networks drop, providers have outages, and some events are simply not detectable by the devices in a home.
We do not guarantee that every event will be detected, that every alert will be delivered, or that a crew will arrive within a particular time. We provide the service with reasonable skill and care, and that is what we commit to.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage that Sentri did not cause, including damage that would have occurred anyway, loss arising from a device or third-party service failing, or indirect and consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Sentri is not insurance. It does not replace property or contents cover, and it does not guarantee that a claim will be paid.
Ending your account
You can close your account at any time in the app, under Profile and then Close Your Account. Closing it stops monitoring immediately.
We may suspend or end an account that is being used in breach of these terms, or where we are required to. Where we can, we will tell you first.
What survives your account closing, and for how long, is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by email where the change is significant. Continuing to use Sentri after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
