Privacy Policy

Last updated 22 October 2026

The short version

Sentri watches your home for leaks, smoke and other emergencies, and gets a person to you when something happens. To do that we hold your name, your address, and what your sensors report. We share it with the people who respond and with the services that run the platform — never with advertisers, and we do not sell it.

Who we are

Sentri is operated by Vision Zero Connect Ltd (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Sentri app for homeowners, the Sentri Response app used by crews, and our websites.

If you have any question about this policy, or want your data removed, write to admin@visionzeroconnect.com.

Our Terms of Service set out what Sentri does, what it does not do, and what we each agree to.

What we collect

Your account. Name, email address, and phone number if you give one. We store a one-way hash of your password, never the password itself.

Your home. The address you enter and its map coordinates, so a crew can be sent to the right door. Also anything you choose to add: key holder details, where the main water shut-off is, your alarm provider, and your insurance details.

Your emergency contacts. The names and numbers of people you ask us to call if we cannot reach you.

What your devices report. If you connect an account such as Google Nest, we receive readings and events from those devices — for example a leak detected, a smoke alarm sounding, or a room temperature. We never receive your password for those services, and no video from a camera passes through our servers.

Incidents. What was detected, when, what we did about it, who attended, and any photographs a crew or you upload.

Messages we send. A record of the emails, texts and calls we made about an incident, so it can be shown that you were contacted.

Your phone. A notification token so alerts can reach your device, and basic technical information such as the platform.

Crew location (Sentri Response only). If a crew member turns it on, their location while they are travelling to an accepted job, so you can see they are on the way. It stops when they arrive.

Utility usage. Only if you connect a utility account, or upload a file yourself.

Why we hold it

To monitor your home, to reach you when something happens, to send the right people to the right address, to keep a record of what occurred so you can give it to an insurer, and to run and secure the service.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Who we share it with

The people who respond. Our Call Center operators, and the restoration company sent to your home. They see what they need to attend: your address, what was detected, and how to contact you.

Emergency services. If there is a risk to life, we may pass on your address and what we know.

Your insurer — only when you choose. The claim document is produced when you ask for it, and shared only by you.

The services that run the platform. They act on our instructions and only for these purposes:

  • Neon and Railway — the database and servers (United States)
  • Vercel — our websites and web apps
  • Amazon Web Services (S3) — incident photographs (United States)
  • Resend — the emails we send you
  • Twilio — calls and text messages during an incident
  • Google — turning an address into map coordinates, and device data from Nest where you have connected it
  • Ring (Amazon) — your list of cameras and the live view, where you have connected it
  • UtilityAPI — utility usage, where you have connected it

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

Nobody at Sentri can watch your cameras. When you open a live view, the video travels directly between your own phone and your camera provider. It does not pass through our servers, we keep no recordings, clips or still images, and no operator, engineer or restoration crew can view it.

What we hold from a camera depends on the provider. Where a provider sends us notifications, we keep a single line saying what kind of thing happened, which device reported it and when — for example “person seen, front door, 10:42”. Google Nest sends these, and we record movement, a person seen, a sound and a doorbell press.Ring does not currently send us any event detail, so no event history is kept for a Ring camera. We never receive video, recordings, clips, still images or audio from any provider.

How long we keep it

Your account and homes: while your account is open.

Incident records and claim documents: five years from the date of the document. These exist to be relied on by an insurer, so they survive the closing of an account — but the copy kept is the document itself, not your live account.

Photographs: with the incident they belong to.

Message logs: with the incident they belong to.

Camera events: ten days, then deleted automatically. This is the short list of what a camera noticed and when. It is kept briefly so you can look back over the last few days, and it is removed on a schedule whether or not you ask. A camera event never becomes part of an incident record. A person walking past a doorbell is not something a monitoring desk should be shown, so these events are never raised as incidents and are never included in the records kept for five years.

Artificial intelligence

We do not use your information to train any AI model, our own or anyone else’s. Nothing your sensors or cameras report is sent to an AI service, and no automated system decides anything about you.

The one place we use AI is unrelated to your home: on our commercial building product, we use a third-party service to read the figures off uploaded utility bills. No residential information reaches it.

Because nothing here is used for training, there is nothing to opt out of, and no part of the service changes depending on such a choice.

Your choices

You can delete your account from inside the app — Profile, then Close Your Account. This removes your account, your homes, your devices and your contacts. It also removes every camera event we hold and the connection to any linked service, including the stored keys for it.

Incident records and claim documents are kept for five years, as described above, because an insurer may need to rely on them. They contain no camera events and nothing supplied by a camera provider, so closing your account removes all of it.

You can disconnect any linked service at any time, in the app under Connections, and at the provider.

You can turn off notifications in your phone’s settings. Emergency alerts are the reason the app exists, so turning them off means we cannot wake you.

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, or ask us to correct it, by writing to admin@visionzeroconnect.com.

If you live in California

You have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to ask for a copy, to ask us to correct or delete it, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

To exercise any of these rights, write to admin@visionzeroconnect.com. We will verify who you are before acting, because the information concerns your home.

How we protect it

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed. Credentials for connected services such as Nest are encrypted before they are stored, and are never sent to the app. Codes we email you — confirmation codes and licence codes — are stored only as a hash, expire, and can be used once.

No system is perfect. If a breach affects you, we will tell you.

Children

Sentri is intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by email if the change is significant.
